In collaboration with Metropolitan Family Service (MFS), the Portland Electric Ways to Work program (PEWTW) aims to provide you with the tools and incentives to switch to electric transportation and reduce your carbon footprint. Together, we’ll help you transition to electric bikes and vehicles, making your commute eco-friendly and efficient.

PEWTW eBike Program
eBikes offer numerous benefits for commuting, including time efficiency, cost savings, environmental sustainability, health benefits, flexibility, reduced stress levels, extended range, and suitability for mixed terrain.
PEWTW eBike Program Eligibility Requirements
- Must live within Portland city limits
- Must be at or under 80% of the area median household income (see chart below)
- Must be employed for at least 20 hours a week for 3 months continuously before applying
- Must have stable housing
- Must be 16 years old or older

PEWTW Electric Vehicle (EV) Program

PEWTW EV Program Eligibility Requirements
- Must live within Portland city limits
- Must be at or under 80% of the area median household income (see chart below)
- Must have reliable savings to successfully make monthly auto loan and insurance payments
- Must be employed for at least 30 hours a week for 6 months continuously before applying
- Must have stable housing
- Must have an OR driver’s license
- Must be 18 years old or older
