Thanks for Making Our Photo Contest a Success!
Thanks to your efforts, we finished out our Pedal Power Photo Contest on a high note and raised some much-needed funding for our friends at the Community Cycling Center.
For every “like” received and photo entered during the contest, we pledged to donate $1.00 to the Community Cycling Center for their “Create a Commuter” program, which provides safety education and commuter bicycles to low-income adults striving to connect to workforce development.
Bottom line – you delivered! In total, we received nearly 200 likes, over a dozen photo entries and hundreds of votes for your favorite photos (congratulations to our contest winner, we’ll be sending you your $250 VISA gift card soon!). In addition, we were able to reach thousands of folks in our community through some fun summer events, including the Big Float, Sunday Parkways, National Night Out and the Portland Bridge Pedal.
To say thank you for your support, Point West will be donating the $1,000 maximum to the Community Cycling Center. We know they will put the funds to good use in their efforts to make transportation more accessible for those most in need in our community.
In addition to their “Create a Commuter” program, the Community Cycling Center brings a lot of awesome to the table. Founded in 1994, their mission is to broaden access to bicycling and its benefits. Their vision is to build a vibrant community where people of all backgrounds use bicycles to stay healthy and connected.Learn more or contribute at communitycyclingcenter.org.
Thank you again for helping make our campaign so successful, and for helping create a stronger, more financially-empowered community.
