We value our Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. With great care, this savvy and dedicated group of volunteers have guided Point West back to financial wellness. Now as Point West is able to look back beyond the Great Recession, it’s an incredibly exciting time – with our Low Income Designation, our CDFI Certification and a strategy for providing financial wellness to more of our community than ever before, ensuring we have engaged and passionate volunteers is essential to our future.

We invite you to join this exciting new chapter at Point West. We believe that now more than ever, a credit union dedicated to serving its entire community, including minority/underserved populations and microenterprise businesses – the engines of our local economy – could truly be a catalyst for real change and economic opportunity for all. To accomplish this, it will take our entire cooperative working together, from members and staff all the way up to our volunteers on the Supervisory Committee and Board of Directors. Volunteers of the credit union are representatives from the credit union’s membership and have been a member of Point west for at least two years. Every effort is made to draw from our diverse community, to enrich strategic conversations and ensure the direction of Point West is relevant, purposeful, and beneficial for our entire membership.

The Board is responsible for ensuring Point West Credit Union:

• Is capably managed by a knowledgeable CEO and an experienced, well-trained staff.

• Operates ethically using sound business and accounting practices.

• Fulfills its purpose of providing costeffective, accessible products and services.

• Provides adequate financial reserves to cover delinquent loans and other potential losses

• Complies with all applicable laws and regulations
